JSSC Inter Level Selection Process

The selection process for the JSSC Inter Level Recruitment consists of the following stages:

Preliminary Examination (If conducted)
Main Examination
Document Verification

Candidates who qualify in each stage will be shortlisted for the subsequent stage of the recruitment process.

JSSC Inter Level Exam Mode

The JSSC Inter Level Examination will be conducted either in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode or OMR-based mode. If the examination is conducted in multiple shifts, the Commission will prepare the merit list based on normalised marks. All questions will be objective-type multiple-choice questions, and the question paper will be available in both Hindi and English.

JSSC Inter Level Preliminary Exam Pattern

The Preliminary Examination is conducted only when required by the Commission. It is primarily a screening test intended to shortlist candidates for the Main Examination. The paper assesses candidates’ knowledge of General Studies, Jharkhand General Knowledge, Mathematics, General Science, and Mental Ability.

Candidates are required to secure the minimum qualifying marks prescribed by JSSC according to their respective category.

JSSC Inter Level Main Exam Pattern

Candidates shortlisted in the Preliminary Examination will be called for the Main Examination. The Main Examination consists of three papers, each carrying objective-type multiple-choice questions.

Paper-I is qualifying in nature, whereas the final merit list is prepared using the marks obtained in Paper-II and Paper-III, subject to meeting the minimum qualifying criteria.

  • Each correct answer carries 3 marks.
  • One mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer.
  • Paper-I is qualifying in nature.
  • Candidates must secure 30% qualifying marks separately in Paper-I, Paper-II, and Paper-III.
  • The final merit list is prepared using the marks obtained in Paper-II and Paper-III only.
  • If the examination is conducted in multiple shifts, normalisation of marks will be applied by the Commission.
